How To Clean A Laptop After A Spill?
Anyone of us can have a bad day especially when you accidentally spill a cup of coffee, milk, water or any liquid beverages to your one and only laptop, this spell DISASTER to your whole day.
Anyway, the only thing you can do first is not to panic and follow this simple steps to save your laptop from more damage...
- Quickly turn the power off or pull the plug from the socket to avoid any short circuit.
- Wipe the laptop with any cloth, tissue or even your shirt could do. Be sure to wipe all the spill and to assure this is to tilt the laptop to see some more spill.
- Remove any plugged devices like the mouse, flash drive, external drive or the power plug if you forgot to unplugged it.
- Examine the spill trail and try to tilt it again (I said tilt, don't shake it like your rattler) to make sure that there are no more spill. You can remove the battery if the spill reach the bottom of your laptop.
- If your laptop is under warranty, do not try to disassemble it because it will void your warranty.
- If your at home and it happens that you have a hair dryer (well, if your a girl it's ok to have one :P), you can use your hair dryer on a cool setting to dry. Don't prolong the dryer to one spot, try to move it to different spot(s) where the spill had been.
- After the hair dryer, leave your laptop for at least 24 hours before turning it on again.
- And the moment of truth, cross your fingers and push it on (by the way, be sure to plug it again, sometimes user mistakenly panic here and didn't know if the laptop has still some power).... if the laptop doesn't work then it's time to seek for a real professional here. Call your friendly neighborhood Computer Technician man... or just buy a new one if this doesn't work either. :D
Note: Water can be clean easily but the coffee, soda or your favorite frappé can be sticky. I'm sure that you can notice some ants crawling on your laptop if you didn't clean/wipe it thoroughly.
Another thing, why not buy your laptop a silicone cover for the keyboard, this can save your laptop from a sudden spill.

Team Spain Wins World Cup 2010
Congratulation to the team of Spain that won the FIFA World Cup this year... thanks to Andres Iniesta for his last incredible goal that put Spain in history.
Germany, Brazil, Japan, Argentina and South Africa are my choices but sad to say they all lost except for the germans who won for the third place. But I won the bet on Spain versus Netherlands :P
If you read the news about Paul the Psychic Octopus , you could love or hate the animal on it's prediction. I think that or from the news that almost or all of Paul's prediction regarding the FIFA came true. From the Germany's prediction loss to the Spain's winning... and now, Paul receives death threats from the germans but the Spain is willing to adopt Paul to protect it from harm... for me, I think it has some placebo effect on the game, if your a player and hear this news before a/the game, maybe it could bother you a bit or somehting in between if your team is in the winning or losing side of Paul's pick.
Here's the list of individual awards:
Diego Forlan (Uruguay) - Adidas Golden Ball Award
Thomas Mueller (Germany) - Adidas Golden Shoe Award and the Best Young Player Award
Iker Casillas (Spain) - Adidas Golden Glove Award
Andres Iniesta (Spain) - Man of the Match
Team awards:
Spain - World Cup Champions & the FIFA Fair Play Award
Netherlands - Runner-Up
Germany - Third Placer
Uruguay - Fourth Placer
Anyway, kudos to all teams that participates FIFA, how I wish the Philippines have participated in that event... congratulation again to Spain, Viva España!!!

Riding Tandem In Paco
After high noon, I went to Honda Paco in Manila to purchase a spark plug for my motorcycle. Just as I was walking along Paco, I heard some people shouting on the other side of the street where the Mercury drugstore is located. I scout the area for anything that is happening when I saw a motorcycle running wildly across the street. There, the driver that is wearing a helmet I thought is drunk or something but I saw his back ride or passenger on his back is putting some fist at the back...in my or in every ones surprise, there's a man hanging for his life at the tail of the motorcycle.
I thought that the third man that's clinging on the motorcycle was their friend that just slipped at the back of the motorcycle. I'm asking my self why isn't the driver try/tried to stop his motorcycle since there's a man that had been clinging on his vehicle that what I saw is so severely bruised from hanging. I tried to shout to stop his vehicle or to make a brake... but what it look like is that I think that they didn't hear me or every one that's shouting to stop. I thought that the motorcycle lose it's brakes, I'm thinking to stop it by kicking the front wheel or something to stop it... but, a man across the street stopped me as told me that the two men whose on the motorcycle is a snatcher and they just snatched the guy's neck lace.... the man, that had been clinging on the motorcycle is the one that had been snatched and he just trying to stop the thieves by hanging his self on the vehicle.

Everything that just happen is so fast... but when the driver / snatcher tried to shake their victim they suddenly lose control of the handle and that's when the motorcycle skid... the by standers, pedicab drivers and some security guards tried to stopped the two snatchers while the other helped the bruised guy... as I run towards them, I saw two policemen... before the people or should I say the angry mob get's to pound the driver his accomplice just make a run for his life. The first police officer tried ti control the angry mob to avoid any injuries on both parties... and no one knows if the snatchers have a gun or any weapon... as the police officer put a cuffs on the snatcher / driver the other policeman chased the accomplice... that's when the other bystanders help the police stopped the last crook by throwing some punches, kicks or anything to stop him from running... the accomplice had been pounded by the angry mob and the police officer is trying to control them... I've heard some men shouting that 'mamatay ka na, hayop ka! kami ang napagbibintangan minsan dito na gumagawa niyan...' - 'die you beast! we are the once that usually been accused by your doings...'.
As the victim tried to calm and take a hold of himself, others are cursing the two snatchers on what they did on the victim... the victim is about five foot seven and estimated around 180-200 pounds in weight... as I look at him, his left arm are heavily bruised from his slipshod and also his left thigh and legs... when the victim regain his control about the situation, he then suddenly throw a punch to the driver of the motorcycle who just snatched him... well, it didn't what we all expected that he will hit him directly... why? for pete's sake... why punch a guy on a face while he has his helmet is still on his head... damn! Anyway, he throw another punch and he make sure he could hit him... as the police officer tried to control the situation, the victim told the officer to let him go and let them fight mano y mano... well, the officer didn't comply to his request...
When the two officer get the hold of the people, victim and the snatchers then they decided to put them on bars...
Now that's a bad day to both of them...

Yzzy & Dré
Last week is a bit of a roller coaster to us - family. Well, at first my nephew Bianca - 6 years old, got a fever from the different changing of the climate. My daughter Yzzy - 5 years old, tried to cheer her up and help her in any way she can. After two days, Bianca's little sister got a fever too due to exposure to her big sister and Yzzy still look up to her cousins. She even fan them on their sleep... sweet isn't it?
Anyway, after another two days, my daughter got a fever also as her two cousins almost on their recover stage. But what makes me and my wife got scared is her body temperature is 38.2 to 39 from morning to night. My wife decided to bring Yzzy to Sta. Ana Hospital. They do some blood and urine examination's on Yzzy. But the results is negative... she's safe for a dengue or for a urinary track infection (U.T.I) as that was here former record.
The female doctor checked Yzzy after several hours since I think that she's the only doctor in the emergency room. The Sta. Ana Hospital in Manila is a newly established and funded by a group of rich people to help the poor. From what I have learned, the hospital doesn't charge any patient(s) and they also giving them free medicines if it is available. I even noticed that they have this compact machine to check someone's heart... sorry guys, don't know what it is :P Anyways, as I scan through their facility, there are so many nurses attending their patients, all busy and very happy to serve them / us all. The security only allowed at least one person per patient.
When my daughter's temperature returned to normal, that's when the doctors ordered us for release. I would like to give something in return to the doctor or nurse who attended my daughter but to see their patient(s) recover from something is more than a thank you or welcome to them... they are all happy or just simply satisfied if they help someone.
But after Yzzy recovers my another nephew got a fever and vomits after eating any meal... my sister whose a mother of Sam - my nephew, rushed his son to Sta. Ana Hospital also when they learned that the hospital offers any patient in Manila (I think) for free.
Before Sam got well, my youngest son also got a fever. Of all the children in our family, Dré is the most fragile when it comes to fever because he has a history of a seizure when ever he gets a fever. You can know more about this incident on my former blog...
Imagine that in a week, all of them got sick, an epidemic I guess or just a coincidence. But what matters most is that they are all okay now.
I bought Dré a Optimus Prime shirt, shoes a game for his PS2 and a cute dress and a barbie game for Yzzy too of course ☺, seeing them smile back at me just takes those worry away. How I wish that my kids or any kids across the globe may avoid being sick in any way.
